HAPPY EXPECTANT MOTHER’S DAY! A CRAZY NEW HOLIDAY THAT’S LONG OVERDUE

Apr 17,2008

Move over greeting card companies, make way florists, there’s a New Mother’s Day in town and this time it’s all about the food.  Stir Crazy, the Chicago-based chain of full service casual dining Asian restaurants, is proclaiming Sunday, May 4 as Expectant Mother’s Day, surprising everyone a week earlier than the traditional Mother’s Day date. Expectant Mother’s Day will be celebrated at all 12 Stir Crazy’ locations in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Florida, Ohio and New York.  All expectant moms dining in Stir Crazy restaurants on May 4 will receive a free entrée of their choice up to a $13 value; and, the first 25 expectant mothers at each location also will receive a complimentary Expectant Mother’s Day Gift Bag courtesy of Stir Crazy and award-winning infant gear and children’s toy maker Learning Curve Brands, Inc., www.learningcurve.com.

The Expectant Mother’s Day gift bag will include these products by Learning Curve Brands:

•    Samples of Bella B body care products:  A four ounce tube of Tummy to Toes for tired legs and feet and trial size packets of Tummy Honey Cream and Tummy Honey Butter.
•    The First Years Soothie pacifier and Soothie bottle: Over 2,000 hospitals nationwide give newborns the Soothie pacifier. Soothie pacifiers are sized and shaped for baby's developing mouth.  The nipple for Soothie bottles has the same shape as the Soothie pacifier your little one may have received at the hospital.
•    Lamaze award winning line of infant developmental toys: Lamaze Celeste the Sun Play and Grow allows baby to explore textures and sounds.  Attach Celeste to baby’s stroller or carrier with the Morgan the Monkey Link Set and baby can bring along their friend where ever they may go.

Stir Crazy restaurants are located in the Chicago areas of Northbrook, Schaumburg, Oak Brook and Warrenville; in Indiana, Stir Crazy can be found in the cities of Indianapolis and Greenwood; the sunshine state of Florida is home to a Boca Raton location as well as the newest Stir Crazy recently opened in Pembroke Pines, both located on the east coast of that state. In New York state, diners in West Nyack can visit Stir Crazy; the St. Louis, Missouri area of Creve Coeur has a Stir Crazy as does the Detroit, Michigan suburb of Auburn Hills. Rounding out the Midwest is the Stir Crazy in the Cleveland, Ohio suburb of Lyndhurst.

"We know we’re a little early this year,” admits Peter Nolan, Vice-President of Marketing for Stir Crazy, “but Stir Crazy is extending the time and scope of the traditional Mother’s Day celebration to include moms-to-be who don’t quite make the traditional ‘cut-off date.’  Expectant moms may come in and eat for one, two, or three, and do so in a healthy way.  Stir Crazy has always been a restaurant committed to nutritious food and every-day-fresh ingredients.”

With bowls of noodles and dishes big enough for two, Stir Crazy is ready to cater to any craving with its multinational Asian fare and create-your-own Market Bar.  What’s more, the menu was recently updated with 5 new spring specials plus new permanent additions to the menu that will satisfy any new moms-to-be palate.

The first annual Expectant Mother’s Day is a labor of love for Stir Crazy. Its birth as a new holiday will be nurtured by the restaurant, from its infancy this year into a full-grown holiday in the coming years; celebrated around the country by expectant moms and dads-to-be.
